A VISIT OF SEAMEO VOCTECH TO SEAMEO QITEP IN MATHEMATICS

Partnership among SEAMEO Regional centres is important to tighten the relationship among the centres and furthermore to develop the quality of human resources in Southeast Asia region.

Two delegates of SEAMEO Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (VOCTECH) visited SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics on Thursday, 29 July 2012. Deputy Director for Administration of VOCTECH, Mr Hj Ali Husaini bin Hj Mohd Diah and Edu-ICT manager Mr Benjamin G. Quito arrived at QITEP in Mathematics on Thursday afternoon. They were welcomed by the Prof. Subanar, Ph.D. (Director of QITEP in Mathematics), Prof.Dr.rer.nat.Widodo , MS. (the Head of PPPPTK Matematika) and officials of PPPPTK Matematika and QITEP in Mathematics.

In his welcome speech, Prof. Widodo explained the relationship between PPPPTK Matematika and SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics. Further, Prof. Subanar Ph.D. during his speech also stated that QITEP in Mathematics as a newly-born centre needs to learn from other sister centres.

Hj Ali Husaini bin Mohd Diah thanked the officials of SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics for the warm welcome and he hoped their coming will not merely a visit but also partnership in the future. After the exposition of the profile and programmes of QITEP in Mathematics and VOCTECH by Dr Wahyudi and Mr. Benjamin G. Quito; the delegates of VOCTECH, Head of PPPPTK Matematika and Director of QITEP in Mathematics had a discussion then joined a campus tour.
